Lake Louise may get more press, but Moraine Lake can certainly hold its own in the natural beauty department. Out of all the breathtaking sights I saw on my recent trip to Canada, Athabasca Falls in Jasper National Park might be at the top of the list. This shot is taken from the top of the falls. The thunder that results from this 80 foot drop into a very narrow canyon is absolutely incredible.
The narrow 14 km road between Lake Louise and Moraine Lake offers some spectacular clifftop views to the east. But don't neglect to look to the west, either. I nearly drove right by this unmarked mountain stream without even noticing. A quick look at the map revealed that the water is flowing from the Paradise Valley of Banff
