It didn’t start out this way. When I first arrived at the Turkey Spur of West Virginia’s New River Gorge, clouds were quickly gathering overhead. I figured I would hang around long enough to see if it might blow over. No such luck as a thick, white wall of rain started to obscure the ridge to the west. It was
